We always get to dwell on one or the other.
As I step outside and look around
I notice weeds are to be found.
And suddenly I stress at what I see
I hear a voice that speaks to me.
JUST LOOK UP I hear it say
For there is more to see today
You must not dwell on just the weeds
For I have given more, became the plea.
But these weeds are such an awful pain
For they make perfection unobtained
This garden must, be weed free
Or else My mind is not at ease.
But JUST LOOK UP I hear again
And 8 ft high I start to grin
For there I see the hummingbirds
That hovers over these silent words.
But I can’t enjoy this scene for long
For those weeds must go, how sad the song
But then again I hear it said
Forget the weeds and clear your head
So now I look out off the deck
My back yard, feels like quite a wreck
There are many gardens everywhere
But each has things, My eyes do stare.
Sure they have nice color and plants galore
But they have some weeds, my mind did roar.
Then JUST LOOK UP it did repeat.
For now I’m looking at my feet
Now looking up I see the lake
And yes a moment I will take
For now I do not notice weeds
The ducks are swimming so at ease.
But now I see some algae there
This lake needs work, I do despair
But JUST LOOK UP was his demand
So high I looked, for its wings were grand.
There above the lake I saw
A large red hawk as it’s mate did call
For this wonderful sight made sense to me
And the algae disappeared you see
But then one night the storm did hit
And I walked outside to see the fit
For everywhere I look around
The devastation could be found
For trees and limbs were everywhere
My gardens were hardly there
Now my mind saw nothing good
This place was now just tangled wood
500 hours will all be needed
To clear the mess, the wind had seeded
For nothing can relax my mind
This yard for now is so defined
Yet JUST LOOK UP, I heard again
And saw the bloom, pink and thin
But surely you don’t really think
My mind can dwell just on the pink.
No dear sir, Look higher still
So I bent my neck and raised my will
But only birds flew high you see
I saw no reason to have such glee.
Than JUST LOOK UP a little more
I promise to make your spirits soar
And as I peered into the sun
I finally saw the infinite one
For there was God my loving friend
Who has always been there till the end
Who every day does his best
To help us see his vision quest.
For every day we try to see
All those things that set us free
But so often we only see the bad
And because of that we feel so sad
But JUST LOOK UP, keep looking there
And eventually you see what God can share
That will take away the negative
And help you find, what he can give
So next time you find yourself all down
Try this trick that I have found
When I feel stress, pain and sadness in my cup
I know that can change, If I JUST LOOK UP.
BY THE WAY 2.5 OZ OF GLYPHOSATE WITH A GALLON OF WATER WILL KILL UP TO A THOUSAND WEEDS IN LESS THAN 20 MINUTES OF SPRAYING.
SO DO NOT STRESS OVER A BUNCH OF WEEDS.
HOWEVER I KNOW SOME WOMEN WHO IN PULLING WEEDS REDUCE STRESS
GREATLY SO YOU CAN CHOOSE. Jms 2025

It’s a beautiful reminder to shift our focus from the imperfections around us and appreciate the beauty that exists above. The poem encourages us to find peace in the midst of chaos by looking beyond the immediate struggles. The imagery of hummingbirds, ducks, and hawks brings a sense of calm and perspective. Yet, it’s hard to ignore the persistent pull of the weeds and the work they demand. How do we truly balance the need to address life’s challenges while still finding moments of joy and beauty? Given the growing economic instability due to the events in the Middle East, many businesses are looking for guaranteed fast and secure payment solutions. Recently, I came across LiberSave (LS) — they promise instant bank transfers with no chargebacks or card verification. It says integration takes 5 minutes and is already being tested in Israel and the UAE. Has anyone actually checked how this works in crisis conditions?
really appreciate your comment on my poem
I’m a true believer that if we can dwell on the positive we will have a happier life.
being a nature boy since I was 5, boy scout at 11 and a landscaper all my life, it its easy to see the good in nature,
everyday, And when all else fails, and I can look so high I see his Sun/Son, I am at peace.
hope you have AN EMPOWERING DAY
jms.
The poem beautifully captures the struggle between focusing on life’s imperfections and finding beauty in the unexpected. It reminds us to shift our perspective and appreciate the moments of joy, even amidst chaos. The recurring message to “look up” serves as a powerful metaphor for seeking positivity. However, it also highlights the difficulty of letting go of our worries. Do you think the speaker will ever fully embrace the idea of focusing on the beauty rather than the weeds? This poem beautifully captures the struggle between focusing on life’s imperfections and finding beauty in the unexpected. The recurring message to “JUST LOOK UP” serves as a powerful reminder to shift perspective and appreciate the wonders around us. The imagery of hummingbirds, hawks, and blooming flowers contrasts with the frustration of weeds and storm damage, creating a vivid emotional journey. It’s a call to embrace moments of peace amidst chaos. How can we train our minds to consistently focus on the positive rather than the flaws?
